9 Shot & 3 People DEAD After IHOP Shooting Rampage!

3 people are dead after a gunman in a Nevada IHOP opened fire inside the restaurant wounding at least 9 people:

DEVELOPING: An official says three people are dead after a gunman opened fire at a Nevada IHOP restaurant Tuesday, wounding himself and nine other people.

The shooting happened at about 9 a.m. local time at the Carson City restaurant, located in a strip mall on the state capital’s main street.

Carson City Sheriff Kenny Furlong said the gunman is still breathing but is not expected to survive. He said at least two of the three people killed were National Guardsmen in uniform.

Furlong says law enforcement officers responded but fired no shots during the ordeal.

No names or motive have been released.

One victim died at a hospital in Carson City. Seven additional victims are now being treated at area hospitals, authorities said.

Local and state police and FBI agents descended on the scene on South Carson Street, also called U.S. 395. Yellow tape surrounded the parking lot near a Kohl’s department store in a shopping complex across the street from a casino and hotel.

Three people are dead after a gunman opened fire at a Carson City, Nev., Ihop restaurant, shooting nine people before shooting himself.

At least two of the people killed were members of the military, said Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong. Extra security has been implemented at nearby military installations, authorities said.

“At this point, seven persons were transported from the scene to Renown [Regional Medical Center] and Carson for surgery. Two were established dead at the scene. There has been a third death,” said Furlong.

The gunman, initially reported dead, is still breathing but not expected to survive, Furlong said. The gunman, who has not been identified, shot himself in the head with an automatic weapon.

The suspect arrived at the restaurant in a blue minivan, police said. The male shooter was seen running into the restaurant at 8:58 a.m. PDT.

“Right now it appears that there was one shooter…there does not appear to be any safety concerns outside this area of where we’re standing,” Furlong said.

At least 11 agencies, both federal and state, are working the scene, Furlong said.

Ralph Swagler, an owner of Locals Barbecue near the IHOP, told the Reno Gazette-Journal that he saw a man wearing a red shirt pull up in a blue minivan. Swagler told the paper that the man first shot and killed a man on a motorcycle before taking aim at seven others.

Kurt Althof a public relations manager for Care Flight told the Reno Gazette-Journal that helicopters from three of their bases were called to the scene at around 9 a.m. this morning. Althof told the newspaper that the helicopters have transported at least three victims to Renown Regional Medical center, two women and one man. At least two of them are in critical condition, Althof told the paper.

Preliminary information was that the the shooter was an ex-employee of the pancake house, but police now say that they can’t confirm that about the shooter.
